Can’t send & receive MSN e-mail

First, Sign in to http://www.outlook.com with the problem email address and password and check to see if you are able to view your emails. If you see them on the Outlook.com website, then it’s a problem with MSN email synchronization process.
To Fix the Email synchronization on MSN. We have to rename the .sdf (sync files) from the database folder in your computer. Please follow the instructions listed below on how to rename the .sdf files. Most often renaming this file will fix your email related issues.
Windows 8
Note: Sign out from MSN then close all the program before performing the steps below.
- Click Start
- Click Search in the upper right-hand corner
- In the Search box, type the following: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\MSN
- Press the ENTER key, The MSN folder will open.
- In the MSN folder, do the following(if you are unable to find the db30 folder):
a. Click ‘Organize’, then ‘Folder and Search options’, on the screen click ‘View’ tab
b. Put a dot on ‘Show hidden files and folders’
c. Uncheck the ‘Hide extensions for known file types’ and ‘Hide protected operating system files options’
d. Click ‘Apply’, then ‘OK’
The db30 folder will appear inside the MSN folder.
- Open the db30 folder then look for files that end as MSN-com.sdf and MSN-com_JMF.sdf
- Right-click, choose ‘Rename’ and add .old after .sdf to both these files( example, Msn-com.sdf.old)
- Close the db30 folder.
Then Sign into Msn and wait for 30- 40 minutes for the emails to get synchronized.
Windows Vista/Windows 7
Note: Sign out from MSN then close all the program before performing the steps below.
- Click ‘Start’

- Click ‘OK’, The MSN folder will open.
- In the MSN folder, do the following (if you are unable to find the db30 folder):
- Click ‘Tools’, ‘Folder options’, and then ‘View’
- Put a dot on ‘Show hidden files and folders’
- Uncheck the ‘Hide extensions for known file types’
- Click ‘Apply’, then ‘OK’
The db30 folder will appear inside the MSN folder.
- Open the db30 folder and look for a file that ends as MSN-com.sdf and MSN-com_JMF.sdf
- Right-click, choose ‘Rename’ and add .old after .sdf to both these files (example, Msn-com.sdf.old)
- Close the db30 folder
Then Sign into Msn and wait for 30- 40 minutes for the emails to get synchronized.
