Removed account.microsoft.com/family feature

Removed or turn off family feature from account.microsoft.com

To turn off or stop using the family features Microsoft provides, follow the instructions for the version of Windows you’re using.

For Windows 10, Windows 10 Mobile, Windows 8.1, or Windows RT 8.1: Remove people from your Microsoft account family

  1. From a web browser, go to http://account.microsoft.com/family and sign in with the Microsoft account of anRemoved account.microsoft.com/family feature adult in the family.
  2. To remove a child, choose to Remove at the top of the section labelled Select a child to view or edit their settings.To remove an adult, including the account you used to sign in with, choose to Remove at the top of the Adults section. If you’re the only adult in the family, you’ll need to remove all the kids before you can remove yourself.
  3. Select the person you want to remove from the family.
  4. Select the Remove button that appears when you’ve chosen the person to remove.

 

For Windows 7 or Windows Vista running Family Safety through Windows Essentials: Uninstall Family Safety

 

  1. Click the Start button, click Control Panel, and then, under Programs, click Uninstall a program.
  2. Click Windows Essentials.
  3. Click Uninstall (or Uninstall/Change). Click Continue if prompted.
  4. Select the checkbox next to Family Safety, and then click Continue.
  5. Follow the instructions on your screen.
  6. After the Family Safety Filter has been uninstalled, restart the PC.
  7. From a web browser, go to http://account.microsoft.com/family and sign in with the Microsoft account of the parent who set up the family.
  8. If there are child accounts listed:
    1. Choose Remove at the top of the section labelled Select a child to view or edit their settings.
    2. Select the first child account in the list, and then select Remove. Repeat until all children are removed.
  9. Return to the main family page, and then choose to Remove at the top of the Adults section.
  10. Select the account you signed in with, then select Remove.

For Windows 7 with Parental Controls turned on

  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click User Accounts and Family Safety.
  3. Click Parental Controls.
  4. Under Parental Controls, click Off.

For Windows XP running Family Safety

  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add or Remove Programs.
  2. In the Currently installed programs box, click Windows Essentials, and then click Remove. Click Continue if prompted.
  3. Select the checkbox next to Family Safety, and then click Continue.
  4. Follow the instructions on your screen.
  5. After the Family Safety Filter has been uninstalled, restart the PC.
  6. From a web browser, go to http://account.microsoft.com/family and sign in with the Microsoft account of the parent who set up the family.
  7. If there are child accounts listed:

How to renew your Office 365 Home or Office 365 Personal subscription?

Renewing online at office.com/renew is the easiest way to renew an Office 365 Home or Office 365 Personal subscription. You don’t need to go to the store, in-person or online.

Your subscription is set up to renew automatically in the future. If you prefer to renew manually, first complete the steps below and then turn automatic renewal off.

  1. Go to Office.com/renew.
  2. Choose the subscription you want to renew and then choose one of the following:
    Renew now to pay now for a full year of Office 365.
    Renew with a monthly subscription for [x] per month to pay for a month at a time.
  3. Review your shopping cart and choose Checkout.
  4. On the next page, sign in with the Microsoft account that you use with Office 365.Microsoft Office support
  5. Review your order and then choose Renew MSN subscription.
  6. Choose Manage subscription to go to Office.com/myaccount.

    When you place your order, your payment method is charged right away, and the expiration date is extended for either a month or a year, depending on what you choose.

    After you’ve renewed, in the future, your subscription will renew automatically and your payment method will be charged unless you cancel your subscription or turn off automatic renewal before the expiration date.

Renew Office 365 for business

your subscription will automatically renew each year on the day you subscribed. You can turn it off or back on again in the Office 365 admin centre if your subscription is active.

  1. Sign in to Office 365 with your work or school account as a global admin. Learn how to sign in.
  2. Select the app launcher icon inOffice 365 app launcher icon the upper-left and choose Admin.
  3. In the admin centre, choose Billing > Subscriptions.
  4. To turn on automatic renewal, switch the toggle to On.Subscription screenshot showing the auto renew toggleYou can stop your subscription from renewing automatically by switching the toggle to Off.

    NOTES:

  • You can only change the auto-renew setting for active subscriptions. If your subscription has already expired or is disabled, you will need to reactivate it before you can turn auto-renew on or off.
  • When auto-renew is turned off, the subscription isn’t cancelled right away. It remains active until it expires. You can view the number of days until expiration on the subscription card, as shown below.

Reactivate and renew an expired office 365 subscription

If your subscription expires, you can reactivate and renew Office 365 admin centre.

  1. Sign in to Office 365 with your work or school account as a global admin. Learn how to sign in.
  2. Select the app launcher icon inOffice 365 app launcher icon the upper-left and choose Admin.
  3. In the admin centre, choose Billing > Subscriptions.
  4. For the subscription that is expired or disabled, choose Reactivate.

IMPORTANT: If you do not see Reactivate as an available action, call Support to reactivate your subscription.

  • Enter your payment details. You can update your existing payment information here.After you submit your payment details, your subscription returns to an active state, and the renewal date extends by either one month or one year, depending on your current subscription commitment. If you pay by credit card or bank account, your credit card or bank account will be charged for the extension. If you pay by invoice, you’ll see the extension reflected on your next invoice. To make sure that your subscription doesn’t expire again, follow the steps to turn auto-renew on.

 

Reactivate a subscription if it has been disabled or cancelled

If your subscription has been disabled by Microsoft (for example, if you forgot to pay your invoice), or if you cancelled it in the middle of a subscription term, you can reactivate it in the Office 365 admin centre.

  1. Sign in to Office 365 with your work or school account as a global admin. Learn how to sign in.
  2. Select the app launcher icon inOffice 365 app launcher icon the upper-left and choose Admin.
  3. In the admin centre, choose Billing > Subscriptions.
  4. For the subscription that is expired or disabled, choose Reactivate.

    IMPORTANT: If you do not see Reactivate as an available action, call Support to reactivate your subscription.

  5. Submit your payment details. You can update your existing payment information here.After you reactivate a cancelled subscription or a subscription that was disabled because a payment wasn’t received, it returns to an active state. Your renewal date stays the same.

Change your Microsoft Account password

Change your Microsoft account password through a web browser

Here’s how to change the password on your Microsoft account through a web browser:

  1. Sign in using your Microsoft account email address and password.
  2. On the Home page, under your profile photo and email address, select Change Password.
  3. You may be asked to verify that you are the account owner by receiving a security code via text or email and then entering it on the web page.
  4. Enter your current password.
  5. Create a new password and then confirm it.
  6. Select Save.

Once you’ve made the change, you’ll receive a notification at your existing “security information” email address or phone number. This is a precaution in case someone else made the change. If that happens, you can cancel the change by following the instructions provided in the notification.

Change your Microsoft account password from your Xbox 360 console

Here’s how to change your password from your Xbox 360 console. Before getting started, make sure that you’re connected to Xbox Live and that you have your current password ready.

  1. Sign in using your Xbox Live-enabled gamer tag.
  2. Scroll right to settings and select Account.
  3. Scroll right to Your Information and select Account Security.
  4. Select Change Password.
  5. Enter your current password, enter your new password twice and then select Change Now.
  6. If you want to save the password so that you can use it to sign in to other Microsoft services, select Yes when you are prompted to do so.
